So today started with the Professional Development Seminar on Leadership/Personal Leadership. It was very informative, but we discussed many topics that I already knew. However, the presenter was a Londoner, and he was walking around during an activity - personality test, and said to my friend and me that we will get along like a burning building. An American would think that we would get along terribly, but he said that it was the opposite, that we would get along great - another one of those British jokes that I just do not get!
After the seminar, I received a birthday card from my parents and also my student Oyster Card.
After the seminar, we went out to Bella Italia and had some delicious pizza. After that, we headed toward Gloucester Road so I could get some money and went to pay my rent until June 14, 2009. I also paid for some tokens for the washer and dryer.
I then ordered my Oyster season pass until July 12.
Next, we went to Kensington so we could help Megan and Shay buy a phone. We walked and walked - we saw a Blockbuster too! We ended up getting off at the wrong tube station, but we got our exercise! We bought the phones, but they ended up not working because of the SIM card was messed up - so they have to return them tomorrow.
We then went to Great Portland Street where I got my International Student House Membership Card. From there, we went to a pub and I got a spicy chicken - which was really spicy and I got apple pie and custard for dessert.
After we ate, we went to Piccadilly Circus again to shop for some tickets for various musicals. We found some tickets for Wicked for 18 pounds for next week! We will buy them tomorrow - a great deal! Then we had to go to a shop so one of my friends could buy some hair products - people told us it will be only 5 minutes, but a Londoner's 5 minutes, is more like 30 minutes. We walked and walked and walked and finally we found the store - it was a pharmacy! However, I did buy shampoo (buy one get one free).
We then headed back to South Kensington and went shopping again and bought a game and some food. We headed back to the flat to play a game and just hang out. We danced and played other games too. I then headed back for an early night.
Tomorrow, plans are to see the Parliament Building, and maybe Buckingham Palace. On Monday, since it is a Bank Holiday, I plan to do laundry. I hope to maybe take a trip to Stonehenge.
