History At A Glimpse

Today, I started off my day with an interview with Inside Government, a section of GovNet Communications. It was not really an interview, but more like a discussion, telling me about GovNet and what I would be doing throughout my internship. I am really excited.

Next, I met my Program Director for Lunch at Embarkment and he told me some great history and tips for London. We then took the bus to the British Museum, where I was meeting EUSA.

At the British Museum, we saw some great historical artifacts that I have studied in school. First, the architecture was just magnificent. The ceiling of the main lobby was made out of glass and it just shined.

I also saw the Rosetta Stone - which is bigger in person than I would imagine.

Below is another picture from the British Museum:

Next, as we were trying to find the tube station back, we stopped in Covent Garden where we saw Drury Lane - from the Muffin Man rhyme.

We then finally found a tube station at Covent Garden that was not so packed. We headed back to South Kensington where we made pasta and garlic bread.

In the evening, we went to a pub for some dessert.

When I got back to Broadmead, I talked to my flatmates for quite a while and we all decided to have a weekly dinner on Wednesday nights. It was a great opportunity to hear about the cultures of Spain, France and Italy.

Tomorrow, I plan to finally go to the International Student House, finalize my housing, and then off for a walking tour by students of London majoring in tourism, and then opening dinner at the Big Chill with EUSA!

Cheers!
